I just put some Moroso trick front springs in My Camaro. I put PN 47175, which are for a 70-81 camaro with a small block chevy... Now the car sits too high. It's about an inch from maxing the front suspension. The instructions say that I can cut them up to one full coil. How much will this lower my car??? I may cut a coil and a half, but I'll just cut one first.... Do I have the wrong springs?
Same thing happen with my Moroso springs in my nova. I replaced them with the stock ones now and I cut a full coil off of the stock ones and it only dropped the car 1/2in.....
If you divide the distance, on the lower arm, from the ball joint to the inner pivot axis by the distance from the ball joint to the center of the spring pocket, you'll get a number greater than "one." Multiply this number by the amount you lopped off the free length of the spring and you get the MAXIMUM amount of drop you can expect. What you'll actually get will be less than this (maybe half to three quarters of an inch) because the shortened spring has a higher spring rate.
