Cutting hood opening for flytrap scoop

Hi board members I need some advice to cut an opening in my steel hood for my flytrap scoop. I have a Edelbrock TRX-1 tunnel ram topped off with a pair of Carter 500's on my 1972 Chevy Nova. My scoop is an old school Mr. Gasket biggie. So give me a baseline and we will work up from there. Thx Madmacs.

if you mean a through the hood scoop i make a cardboard template to locate the hole. first i make the hole then lay it on the car to locate it. mark the cowl line. the see if it clears when you lift it up.

Listen to Shine, the template and trial fitting parts are the fabricators best friends. Time spent on templates is VERY good time spent indeed.
