T Man I had really good luck using stock castings on a 355. you need to take a few precautions though. Make sure the guides are in perfect shape, especially the intake guides. Also I had very good luck using a full face 45 degree angle lapped in on the exhaust valves to get heat away from the valve. valve seat pressure is also critical. we ran this 355 @ 40%over on alcohol in a small tractor & had very good luck. hope this helps.
