Dakota Digital Cruise Control

Anyone hook up a DDCC with an electric speedo in their rod? I'm running into a problem hooking up my DDCC into my '32. The instructions that come with the CC are somewhat backward and misleading, especially the hardware installation which is not in sequence. After monkeying around and redoing it several times I'm now at the wiring and setup stage.

Here's my 1st problem; the gray wire which is the VSS is hooked to where? I have a Daytona speedo and the generator that came with the speedo., on the 700R, has 2 wires-black and white. Dakota digital says to consult the Vehicle Technical Information Guide supplied with the cruise. Great! I don't have their guide and so have this problem.

The 2nd problem is what do I set the "dip" switches to? There's a chart indicating them to be either "off" or "on". I would set them if I knew what "Pulses/Mile" meant and "Sine Wave Input" and "Square Wave Input" meant also. I did set 2 switches (11 &12), but that's it; they were easy.

The 3rd problem is when fastening the cruise control cable to the carb., how tight or loose is the cable supposed to be?
I have installed other cruise controls (not DD) and have never had the problems that I'm having now. Mind you, their installation manuals were a lot better and made sense.

I plan to contact Dakota Digital but maybe someone has a few tips or experiences that they could share that I would not otherwise learn from DD.

I would just go ahead and call DD I can't remember the techs name but he was very helpful when I built my first TPI and installed it in a 40 Ford using their ECM 3 wire hook up.

Dakota Digital Cruise

Thanks for the info. I downloaded their manual and noticed a few things that were different or missing from my instructions, especially some diagrams. Now with this in hand I'll give another kick at the cat.
