Dana 44 or 60 - how do you tell the difference?

I've been trying to ID the rearend in my old pickup. I always thought it was a Dana 60, but the more I research it, the more it looks like a 44. It's a 6 lug with 1/2" studs

How does one tell the difference? Are the covers the same?
I want to get a Moser cover for it.

Here is a pic of it - sorry, best pic I have

The D44 has a more round shape in the Ring Gear area than the D60.

Kinda looks like a 60 to me. It'll have a '60' cast into the lower passenger side gusset if it's a 60....how bout a shot at the cover?

I'm gonna check the ID #'s on it when I go out to Calif next month.

The reason I asking is that I need get get brake parts for it (along with a HD cover). It has large 6 lug drums. Most of the Dana 60's are either 8 lug, or 5 lug on the Hemi cars. The only 6 lug Dana's I have found are 44's

Before, I would just take the shoes & drums in to a local parts house. The old guy there would match it up. That placed closed up a few years ago.

I don't think Autozone will be able to do that

BTW - thanks for replying to my previous post on this.

Prev ID post

I will get some pics of it

Here is a picture of a Dana 60, under a 1974 Ford F-250 Supercab Camper Special pickup.

My finger is pointing at the "60"
