Dana 60 Power Lock Re-build help

I'm not a Dana 60 guy, more familiar with GM 10/12 bolts.

However, my project came with a narrowed Dana 60 with what I think is a Power Lock rearend, 1966 vintage.

Has Strange axles, unknown spline count until I remove the third member.

A couple of pictures:

It appears to need a rebuild, as the wheels spin in opposite directions.

Anyone have re-build instructions?

Where's the best place to get clutches, etc? Mark Williams appears to have them for about $100.

Any gotcha's to look out for when tearing it apart, other than marking the cases before splitting them?

Many thanks.

Those are Great posi unit's! and that is a power lock, Very straight forward to replace clutch's,The clutch kit usually has the 2 pack's separated so it's easy to know what goes on each side. You will see 1 friction on each side that has a small hole in the tab,Make sure that friction goes against the clutch hub as it is a oil lube hole.

Other than that just make sure the side gear splined thru all the clutches before you bolt the 2 halve's together.

The part number for the clutch pack is Dana 707075X if you wanna do some shopping.

Thanks for the part number for the clutch pack. With that little piece of data, I've found a lot of info...!

I'll be tearing into it over the holidays.

Greatly appreciated!

Update:
Got the Dana out of the Nova:

Tore it apart, and found I have bigger/more problems than the posi. Bearings welded in, o-ring seals gone, someone used orange RTV! to seal the axle bearings:

Other things found bad - PS side bearing housing in a degree or 2 crooked, wrong backing plates, wrong brake drums, one crooked lower shock mount

Took it to my local axle/diff guy who knows his stuff.

List of mods/fixes:
  • New Moser axles
  • New PS outer bearing housing
  • New outer bearings
  • Posi fixed
  • Wheelie bar mounts cut off
  • Old panhard bar mount cut off
  • New bottom shock mounts
  • Correct backing plates
  • Correct brake drums
  • New rear brake lines
  • Rear ladder mounts boxed
Shocks were shot, too:

So I bought a set of slightly used QA1's.

My $100 dollar rear end project is going to cost me around $1,500!

Yeah, I keep telling myself that!

I would do rear discs, but I'm already set with a disc/drum master cylinder setup...
