I would not concern myself too much with that as most likely the truck will be lowered to allow access and then raised back up to normal ride height when driving. Look at a kneeler bus for example..the fron on those are lowered at the bus stop to allow for ingress and egress and then they lift up before driving away..the guys at the car shows drop them down on display then air the bags back up to drive home so it does work out in practice..the run boards are a great idea s well..
