Deuce: An average hide is 45 to 50 square feet. A yard of fabric is 13.5 square feet, so I always figure 3 yards for every hide because of the irregular shape of the hide and the waste around the edges of the hide. Is the headliner going to be leather too? I'm assuming the back of the seat back is covered. If so, 4 to 5 hides should do it easily. I'm assuming you are not going to cover the door window moldings and the windshield and rear window moldings. If you are, add another hide.

Thanks Dan ... I have the dash, window moldings and garnishes woodgrained ... by Bob Kennedy of Whittier California ... back to the original woodgrain color and grain just like they were when it left Henry's factory in 1932.

The leather will be a nice, soft brown ... as close to the original brown as I can duplicate from the ratty old interior pieces left. I am changing the pattern a little to reflect it's HOT ROD personality.

Thanks again ... for your input

You're welcome. I love the woodgraining.

15 !!! Do you mean 15 yards of material?? We just did a 41 Ford, which is a larger interior to cover, and it took 8 hides including the trunk.

I think he meant 15 hides, but I wasn't sure, so I didn't comment. That would be 45 yards of fabric which would do the outside of the car too and still have some left over!
