the dash in a 67 lincoln

alright, well i have a 1967 lincoln continental and everything in the interior is out, accept the dash, and im having a real hard time figuring this thing out. The lower half of the dash is already out. and all visable screws are taken out. I can lift it up but its catching in the back. So i get a flashlight to look, and there are hooks on the dash that come down, and secure themselves to another hook that comes of the firewall of the car. I dont know if there is some special trick to getting them off or if i have to unscrew the hook. I can get some pictures if you all need them.

i tried to push the back down and pull.. nothing
i tried to pull up on the back, nothing
i tried to pull out but it felt like it was goiong to break something, is there a secret to it or something that im not getting?

Brandon: You haven't gotten any replies on your post, so I'm going to move it to General Rodding Tech and see if there's some help for you there.

To work on a car such as this, you need a shop manual.
