Sounds just like another company I know..... Classic Motor Carriages, aka StreetBeast.
Whenever anyone is going to plunk down that much change for a body it behooves them to do their homework. The market is littered with fly-by-night manufacturers that are here today and gone tomorrow. In StreetBeast's case they've been in and out of business a number of times under a number of names and have been shut down more than once by the Florida Attorney General's office. They are still operating under their watchful eye even today. Buyer beware! Centerline |

One of our club members had one of their bodies on order for over a year also. He and several other club members went to the NSRA event in Louisville Ky. He confronted these carpetbaggers while they were taking orders, asking where his was and getting louder by the minute. He eventually got his money back, and in the process cost them quite a number of sales.

They are again avoiding contacting us, like the unresponsive persons they seem to be.We have been beyond patient and unless they make things right, they will have a devoted page on our website. You don't think that means much? Just punch up Dearborn Deuce on Google and we are the top 2 on the list, far ahead of them or any others.

That's too bad
This is the first I've heard this. It's too bad, I've seen thm in person and liked them. I guess it just goes to show what advertising will do. I noticed that Total Performace is now selling them also. I would think a company that's been around as long as TP would be pretty savy to a company that may not be able to deliver.

Is the Deuce made by Dearborn Manufacturing? As best I can tell from doing a bit of research, the body is made by a subsidiary of Dearborn Mfg - but I just wanted to make sure that was correct.
The reason I bring it up is Dearborn Mfg makes '32 frames and frame components and THEY seem like a pretty reputable operation (in fact they donated a frame to our club, the Wisconsin Street Rod Assn., last year to raffle off as a fund raiser.) Seemed like a good outfit with a good product. Is it just the body mfg you are having problems with Woodz or the chassis folks as well? Dewey

Dearborn MFG. is a Great company to deal with, we are in contact with them regularly. I wouldn't build another Deuce with any other frame. They are NOT the same or a subsidary of H&H although, like us, had some connections they regret now. I was contacted via e-mail after a promised phone call 10 days before, after I started posting on the forums. He tried to appease me by saying they had worked out the wiper problems and were ready to go forward. The solution is they will include a specialty wiper kit, that can be installed. Hell, this was an option from day one, my conversation with Specialty the same day said that they HAD NOT developed anything for H&H, but had sold a few universal wiper kits for installation in the cowl. Of course this requires additional bodywork and fabrication that was SUPPOSED to be and PROMISED to be integrated. He also made NO mention of the customer that has been waiting a year that we have to field questions from. Since ALL the conversations with the OWNER, not some employee, said they were to be in the top, are they going to pay for the necessary bodywork and painting that will be required. Since they can't even do what they promised I have little faith they will do what they should. Don't get me started on the 3wdw debacle, that is another sore issue.

Just a little update, and NO they haven't contacted us. They did say in an e-mail,that had all the appearances of a form letter, that they are melting down the dies that are used on the 3wdw coupe. So they will no longer be able to build them, that's my observation, theirs was that the 3 wdw coupe is now a limited production body.Dare I say collector item,LOL. If you know anyone that is thinking of ordering one of the 3 wdws, you might have them verify that one is already there, because they aren't going to have anyway to stamp new ones.

Sorry to hear that Woodz.

Been fine thanks. You have enough room to stretch plenty of hides on your new shop.

After having to correct their bookkeeping, a problem that we have had at every corner, we are supposed to be getting a check back, we'll see. Make sure that you keep accurate records of what you have sent if you decide to deal with these people, because they don't. They have still made NO effort to either credit the $1000 difference that it would take to install the Specialty wiper kit (labor &kit) in the body of the convertible that our customer has had since last May or contact them or us regarding it. Who the h*ll would want to screw up the cowl of a Deuce with wipers.
