Have you dug around in this site ?

Google decoders, there's a bunch available online.

I have looked on that site, i can't seam to find UPY, the engine may not even be a 350, I was told when I bought it it was only a two bolt main so i was just going to use it as a mock up motor for installing mounts and so on. I trust the guy I bought the motor from he said it was a good running motor. So tonight I pulled the pan and found it was a 4 bolt main so now I am wondering what this engine is.

The engine was made in Flint Mi March 10. The UPY is not listed in this site. Recheck the suffix code on your engine.

Code--Year---CID----Vehicle--HP----RPO--Trans---Carb----Comments
UPY----86----350----Truck---160---LT9-----------4Brl-----C-20 & C-30
UPY----90----350----Truck---210---L05-----------TBI-----All Models, 4X4

Casting Date on rear of Block will narrow it down further.

Ok I sanded and I think the casting number is 14388548, the only number I'm not sure of is the third digit it looks like a 3 but could be a zero.

Casting #---CID--Years------HP----Comments
14088548---350--86-88--155-195--2-Bolt, Truck, Passenger side Dipstick, 1-piece seal.

By that Casting # & Suffix Code it should be a 1986 model. Another site said it's a 4-Bolt Main, so it could be either 2 or 4-Bolt.
Should also have a Casting Date on rear.
Examples:
*F18* = June 1st of 68, 78, 88 or 98.
*F238* = June 23rd of 68, 78, 88 or 98.
*F2378* = June 23rd of 1978.
*F231978* = June 23rd of 1978
