Decorah IA Bald Eagles Nesting

If any one is interested this is a link to a live web cam feed of a pair of Bald Eagles nesting at the top of a tree at the Decorah Iowa Fish Hatchery.
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/decora...=synclickback&
The female laid the first egg on 2/23, the second was laid this evening, there is a possibility that one more will appear in the next few days with them hatching in approx. 33-35 days.

Vey cool, but someone needs to leave the camera still for a little longer.

95% of the time the camera is stationary, seems like a couple of hours each morning they can't leave it be.

Is there anyway to FF or REW this Video while it is running? The reason I'm asking is that I thought I saw a deer cross through in the background but I don't want to start over if I don't have to.

None that I am aware of. There are some horses just to the left and above center when the camera is directly on the nest...

bald eagles nesting

Cool We have a lot of Bald eagles up here but they are not nesting yet. We also have a lot of Osprey that nest here.
I don't know the link but they have a live cam in a bears den up north, she had two cubs plus she still had one from last year, so there are four in the den.

If you want to see it you might just call up Lilly the black bear. They had the camera in there last year to. so the link has taken over a million hits.

Bob

What's with the add for the 10,000 Chinese girls.

and the Ecno lodge @ eagles nest, what are they going to rent the nest out, when the Eagles leave

Very cool birds. It's nice to be seeing more of them in recent years. They are definitely making a comeback. When I hired in to my current employer 10 years ago there was one bird that used to circle around during the summers and now there are three. They actually have a nest at the top of the mast on a decommissioned aircraft carrier. It's pretty cool.

T, Thanks for posting this, I have watched it everyday for at least a 1/2 hour most of the time more. The last couple days, a lot more as they are about ready to hatch anytime.
Again thanks

Bob

You're welcome.
I too have began to check in a little more frequently as the hatching of the eaglets nears. Should be some interesting viewing after they hatch and grow, dinners and first flight will be something to see.

We are quite fortunate to have dozens of eagles who "fish" our lake and hunt from the trees in our yard. I have counted up to 14 of them at one time circling overhead or perched in our trees. It's not "nesting", but here is a mature that was sitting just off our deck not long ago.

We also have lots of Bald Eagles, Some that stay all winter, some that go down on the Mississippi. I was surprised to see that one, had laid eggs already, I took the truck out and went and look at some nests, nothing there yet. We also have a lot of Osprey, They are not back yet as well.
T if I knew how I could post Lilly the Black Bear, they have a camera in her den. She still had a cub from last year and had two more this year. I could put them up with the eagle, we could have a wildlife thread.LOL

Thanks again.

Bob
