Post Deep Oil Pan Dipstick?????

Has anyone ever changed to a 7qt deep pan? My question is how do I use a stock dip stick to check my oil level? I will probably only put in 6 1/2 qts in the pan, or should I put the full 7qt?

I'll be waiting on any replies.

Thanks

As far as I know, you use the same dipstick. The deeper pan just lets you have more oil. You must have an extension for the oil pickup though.

If you only put 6 1/2 qts in you'll be running around 1/2 qt low. Tongue in cheek) as was said , the dip stick remains the same....GlennK

running it half quart down is ok and will help with the windage. If you're not sure about the dipstick then after you've filled the engine with the 6 1/2 quarts and started it, wait until the oil has drained back when you shut it off and see where it ends up on the dipstick. Where it ends up is your new "full" mark.
