re: Deja Vu - is "IKE" really coming?

Looks like the "wrist slappers" are doing their jobs - - - the station in town that had raised their 87 to $4.09 two days ago when they found out they were the only ones in town with fuel were getting new gas delivered this morning and the price was down to $3.82 - - - several people, myself included, turned them in yesterday and I guess it worked.

Most of the stations in the area are keeping their prices as low as possible it seems (between $3.74 and $3.85 today) - - - I even saw ice for 99 and 79 cents a bag the last few days.

A special thanks to the workers and volunteers from out of State and surrounding communities for their much needed help in the Houston, Galveston and surrounding communities that were devastated by hurricane Ike.

re: Deja Vu - is "IKE" really coming?

There was a station Pilot SR 484 & I ~75 {Big Daddy Don Garlets exit }I believe that raised their price last Sat up $.80 in 1 day they were busted in no time.

AND I was told that after the tankers come in twice, they are allowed to raise the price.

Is this true?

I saw on the Illinois news that a station raised it to $5.99 a gallon because they were out to deter people from wasting their time.

Don't know if thats legal either.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What I don't understand is : we all know a Hurricane is possible & if its coming in the direction of the oil platforms why can't they prepare for this & pump some XTRA so there needs not be a Spike in Fuel $$$
all good points and questions but I have no answers - - the company that my oldest son works for had a brand new rig sitting on the coast waiting to go to it's destination and when they heard Ike was coming, they jerked all the equipment off of the cold iron and put it on a trailer and took it west - - - seems like they could do the same with gas don't it??
Damn it I am sorry to tease you all with riddles.
When I know damn well there is no profit in the cure
Hmm maybe someone could add a few more sea floor anchors to keep them things floating .
Or make them sink & raise them back up .
re: Deja Vu - is "IKE" really coming?
That is absolutely horrible.
I would guess that some people lost their beach house.
For the unfortunate people who live there . . .
Horrible , they have to be aware of the possibility of a bad situation .
Yeah, Rob. I saw post 18 but by the time they get up here they're usually no more than big thunderstorms.
