carb

Do you have a friend that you can borrow a carb from for a few hours to see if you car runs ok with a different carb???

I had a BG carb on a customers car that would leaked fuel through the secondary vacuum port for the PV. It ran rich no matter what I did. I removed it and installed a holley and the issue when away. I lost a good 4 or 5 hours of my time on it and never got it fixed.

There isn't a black and white set of rules for fixing this type of issue. We are trying to help based on the information you give us. so you may have to do a few things that don't help untill it gets figured out.

I know, it is just getting old and I have never had this type of problem with a Holley. The problem with trying a Holley is the fuel inlet is a different size (thread) than a demon and all my set up is braded so it would take some time to try and find the right stuff to even hook up a Holley if I borrowed one. I will check around and see what I can find.

Just my .02 but have have you looked into the carburetor while it is at idle, and make sure the boosters are not dripping? I would also check and make sure the Idle Air Bleeds are drilled, if they are not drilled the fuel will drain out the Transfere slots. You need to check the high speed air bleeds as well.

Lastly I would take a punch or a phillips screw driver and stick them in the vent tubes and tap it with a hammer to make sure there is no obstruction in the vents. A vent being plugged will also cause boosters to drip.

This may not be the case but I would check to be sure.
