desiel super chargers?

Hi guys Just curious can 6v71/8v71, super charges be used clevland (aus) engines 2v. I do know the bohnalite chargers have a diferent manifold bolt paterns. Thanks chris.......

Ayuh,.......

Way Way back when the 1st Superchargers were used,.......

They were modified GMC Blowers from the GM/ Detroit diesels........

Technically of course. Hot rod super chargers are exactly those units. However bolting it up might be a problem if you don't have the matching manifold, pulleys, etc.

A 6v71 and a 6-71 use different superchargers as do the 8v71 and 8-71. The v indicates a v type motor where as the others are inline motors. I have never seen or heard of an intake to use the v type superchargers.

They aren't as popular as the side mounted straight 6 diesel chargers but I have seen V manifolds used on V-8s.

The "V" at Blower shop and others is not the v-6-71 blower. The "V" is for vee belt drive for the water pump and alternator etc. Most of the blower places won't even take a v-6-71 for the few parts that are interchangeable anymore.

desiel super chargers.

Bugger , every thing looked like it might be close besides bolt pattern . Did find a site www.fordflathead.com,they have a big write up on them , but they dont seem to be getting back to me. Thanks for your help you guys....
