Post re: desktop dyno?

I got 420Hp at 6000 Rpm
and 407 ftlbs at 5000 Rpm
...had to guess at the compression ration though.

I don't know how accurate desktop dyno is though.

74huggerorange,

How are you inputting specific intakes into Dyno2000? or are you using a different program?

Post re: desktop dyno?

Virtual Engine dyno 2000 is pretty accurate.

I put in the specs of my 93 Yukon and the torque came out right on the money, but since they dont have my intake or heads, I had to guess on those.

But it was within 15hp and 5 torque.

Post re: desktop dyno?

I downloaded desktop dyno and how I arrived at the different types of intake was I just used single plane or dual plane to get the general idea. by the way I messed up on the cam setting when I ran it and also put the comp at 9.75:1

Post re: desktop dyno?

Desktop Dyno makes some guesses with the intake but since the intake doesn't effect power much at all compared to other parts, it ends up very close to a full on program like engine alalyzer, maybe desktop dyno over rates a 400 hp engine about 10 hp, but it's pretty close if you get the head flow numbers spot on

Post re: desktop dyno?

When i got desktop dyno i would look though magazines for engine buildups and plug them in to see how close it was to the actual thing. It was almost always is within 25 horsepower of being what the magazine had..

I did the 383 that i'm building for my S10 and came up with 300hp and 431 ftlbs at 2000 rpm.That doesn't seem right as all. <img src="graemlins/drunk.gif" border="0" alt="[drunk]" />

I have a bunch of .cam files if anybody needs them.Including the summit that DOUGS67CAMARO has.
