That's my fault! I'm a dork. I thought the 286 was a 224/234 cam. My bad. I'm an idiot. Yep. 8.7 ish would do well, but 9.2-9.5 would really pep that cam up... but my earlier concerns about the cam waking up around 3000 are dumb

So basically what I'm saying is; You can delete my information from your head

The heads you have will be OK, but a little on the low-po side. I might still consider upgrades to it, but its not nearly the cork I had previously assumed.
