Devilbiss model 220 dental compressor

There is a guy here that has a devilbiss model 220 dental compressor for sale. Theres not much info on the tags looks like a 30 to 40 gallon tank its a older compressor but looks in real good shape. Whats the story with the dental compressor it actually says dental right on the tank. Would this be ideal for painting? Any idea what it would be worth used in good condition? thanks

If it is marked dental it more than likely is a top quality compressor. It is possibly an oil less compressor. Whatever type it is, check the rated output. How many cfm can it put out and at what pressure. It may be designed for low pressure and would be of no use for work in the garage.

dental

I knew a guy who did mobile air brushing & he had a dental compressor in his van. I don't know how much its worth but i pumped the tank full really fast.

Devilbiss model 220 dental compressor

Should be oiless, they were used in dentist office's to run the dental hand tools that went in to the mouth..don't think you would want any oil to get in your mouth! Wife's cousin owned a dental lab had four of them seams he had one go bad in 20 plus years....good quality units.. yes you can paint with one but it's going to be limited to air brush or spot panel, it probably won't carry anything else.

Good Luck
Kenny
