Dexcool

I see in the paper that GM is settling a class suit over their Dexcool. I guess they finally are admitting that it has been a problem.

What was the claim of the suit? Somehow I didn't even realize there was a problem! Goes to show you how much I'm keeping up. If it's not 28 years old I'm not racing it, and I don't know about it!

The dreaded orange sludge. Dexcool sludges like crazy when air gets into the system. They marketed it as 100k coolant...I guess people took taht to mean you didn't have to even check it for 100k.
From GM's point of view, probably better to 'rub your neck, write 'em a check'
than have years of bad pr, expensive bills and the possibility of some whacked jury in California handing somebody 500 million for emotional distress caused by spots on the driveway.

Wrong topic

Maybe it should be in the interior section, because gelled dex-cool will also plug heater cores.
