diagnose the fuel deliverey issue

Ok Ford F-150 with a 300 six injected and dual tanks..runs at idle or 1st gear but acts like running our of fuel at higher speeds. Front tank delivers no fuel and sputters on rear tank..

what is the diagnostic procedure on one of these.?

Sam

Plugged fuel filter. Vent in gas cap is plugged. Fuel line is crimped. Old fuel. Blown fuse on fuel tank switch.

Connect temp fuel line to fuel rail from a pressurized source containing new clean fuel. If vehicle runs fine, work backwards eliminating defected items listed above.

Check fuel pressure when running on the tank that works. There are valves that control the fuel flow from the tanks. You may have a bad valve that is not shifting properly so the fuel is restricted on one tank and blocked on the other.
Depending on what resources you have it is usually easier just to pull the bed off so you can get to everything.
