Dear Forum,

3 years ago I was on a buisness trip in Detroit & I bought an extra
set brake pads for my S10 4wd 1997 4.3V6.

I went back to Germany and now 3 years later I have this issue.
The rear one are wrong. smaller

What do I got instead here.

Please see pictures.


Maybe I can sell them if I would know what pads they are

First thing I would do is talk to them. Tell them the deal and see if you can simply trade them in for the right shoes or store credit.

I tried using the numbers off the shoes on the AAP site and got nothing. If you have a receipt, use the p/n off it to enter in their site to get the app.

I just looked on RockAuto.com and they have them at good prices.
Du kannst RockAuto auch in Deutsch anschauen.

No one who sold you anything 3 years ago is going to respond or care.

I wonder what drum do I have on my Blazer. Is this a version specific for Germany.

Do I have a bigger drums for Autobahn?

Listing should have, but may not, have drum diameter and shoe width. I always check the drum diameter and brake shoe width whenever I buy brakes for an older vehicle which may have different sizes. It saves on multiple trips to the store.

They are listed for a "Daily Driver".

There are also shoes for;
Economy and High Performance/Heavy Duty.

I work at a NAPA store....Sometimes, parts get packaged wrong......

Is there not an auto parts store there that can order American car parts?.....We can get all the foreign makes here

The pictures are not good enough to compare, I tried it.
I don´t think your car would be special for Germany, like bigger drums.

Here´s a place in Germany KTS Hamburg
who could order up the parts for you.
I used them when I had a Camaro in Germany, even visited them.
You could also try a GM/Opel dealer where you live, I also got parts/repair for the Camaro there.

I will get the GM part no from the part catalog

I would take the original brake shoes to a GM dealer.

Check the attachment for a Delco number.

I looked it up the GM parts Catalog,

I have a 11x 2 " drum.

I have to use GM part no 18020171
AC-Delco 171-499

which is Wagner PAB 462.

So they gave me the wrong part no.

When you bought those shoes in Detroit did you have the car´s paperwork ?

Odd that no drum brake of your size is listed on RockAuto.
