diff question

i dont know if you have these in usa. in my falcon ive got a 8 3/4 borg warner diff ( thats the size of the housing not he crown wheel) it came out factory in my 351 falcon its got the big axels 4 pinon center and lsd

ive been told they are pretty tuff so im thinking of keeping it in stead of a 9 inch the lsd is a bit worne so im thinking of mini spooling it an putting heavy duty 323.1 gears in it
is this a good idea?? because a 9 inch will cost me a bout a $1000

can you also tell me what exactly a mini spool dose ive heard that they only lock up under power and at normal speeds they wont tear tyres up going around corners

do you think tis combo will handle the mild 351 and shift kited auto??

the Borg-Warner rear is not used much for performance in the US, the mini-spools that I see marketed here are units that replace the spider (diff) gears with a solid unit, this effectively locks the axles and carrier into one unit, BADD-UNSAFE for the street, can cause you many problems. Been there

With big axles and lsd it's already a heavy duty unit and sounds like more that tough enough for what you have in mind. And like Bobcrman said; spools on the street = BAD BAD BAD!! Good luck.
