Difference between post & pre 1986-87 CHEVY SBC 350

OKOK.. i know the obvious difference's between the outside of the motors
Problem... I bent the connecting rods and broke piston in my 1987 350. I come to find out that it was a replacement motor after looking at the valve covers and it was made in 1993 (it was in a 1987 chevy cube truck). It has the 4-bolt mains and the TBI set up on it.

I just want to know what connecting rods i can throw in it and pistons so i can put her back together and send her down the road. I know it uses 5.7 rods but what about the bores in the rod ends? same as an older 350 or am i stuck trying to get post 87 connecting rods and pistons? Let me know so i can get this motor up and running again.

Chances are you need a standard 5.7 chevy rod for your engine, big and small ends are the same. Beam widths(weights) varied over the years and some of the 94-95 TBI trucks i have seen had the newer PM rods in them. Try to get one the same as you have for balance purposes.
