Difference between TRANSGO kits

Hi!

I'm building TH400 and have a question about TRANSGO kits.

Is there any difference between TRANSGO 400-1-2 (Automatic shift, street or full-race, holds 1st and 2nd to any rpm, backshifts to 2nd and 1st at any rpm) and TRANSGO 400-PRO (Holds any gear to any rpm and backshifts with the lever to any gear at any speed.) if I use both for just manual shifting?

I understand that 400-1-2 has automatic capability which 400-PRO has not, but if I use one or another in manual mode, are there any differences in shifting?

Thanks for explanation.

I'm making my car mostly for drag racing and therefore it will see no (or minimal ;) ) street driving.

On my opinion the auto shift valve body is a better choice, but I have a concern about vacuum modulator and his operation under conditions when engine runs in boost. What happens then?

I'm thinking that it would use the manual valve body and disable vacuum modulator.

There is no reason to disable the vacuum modulator for supercharged applciations. Just add a inline one way check valve in the vac modulator vac line or swap the vac modulator for a cable/ controled version used on GM Diesel engines w auto trans. Its a GM part . Any trans shop can get one and uses a TV cable to control it like the TV cable of a TH700r4 Either way, gets it done.
Hmmm, that's good idea. Thanks!

Is there any difference between the this two variants?

If they are equivalent, then the check valve option is better due to simplicity.

TransGo sells a Kit for Boosted Apps.
Part #VBP-VAC >> http://www.transgo.com/tough_stuff.php about $30.

There's a Pic of it here about 1/2 way down page>> http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/transmission-talk/255286-th400-build-pictures-5.html

Lots of 400 Build tips from Pro Builders in this thread, Converter Feed restriction, Info on TransGo Kits= above 500HP their Duel Feed method is not sufficient, needs to be done Internally according to Jake/Jakshoe.
