Is there a cosmetic difference in model a front fenders from 1928 to 1931 ?
On my model a the driver side fender is like 1 to 1 1/2 inches lower than the passenger side so Im wondering if I have a mismatched fender.
Sometimes guys notch the fender braces when doing suspension upgrades, mabe not welded straight. And I think there are channel and round rod type braces. different years .
You simply have a droopy left fender. I reccommend using the early '30 fender braces, as opposed to the later '30-31 braces. 2 reasons, #1 easier to straighten, and #2 no place to collect debris and start rust.
Thing is they are getting harder to find, as the stamped steel ones are cheeper to make, but the forged ones are actually better. You will probably have to find good used ones, as I know of noone making the re-pops.
As to the difference in the fenders, I feel that the '28-'29 fenders are a better looking fender.
I replaced both the front fender braces with new repop ones from sacramento ford so I am wondering if the headlight bar might be bent, I got it at a swap meet.
if they are steel it is likely bent from someone setting on it .i have shimmed many and put a jack under the nose of a few
put the shim under the bottom bolt of the brace . it will push the fender up .
And they could be a little different even though they were brand new, hell even Fords weren't the same side to side let alone a repro part!
I have bent them to get them straight.
