The reason i am asking is I just had a c4 built by GER and I have everything installed, but when I went to put the drive line on it would not slide over the splines of the output shaft. I know there are different input shaft spline counts for different years but i have never heard of different size/spline for the output shafts.
Ford guy here. Obviously there is if your old yoke won't go over the new shaft. Finding another yoke and changing it should be easy and not too expensive and probably will not alter drive shaft length. Higher performance trans gets a bigger shaft.... logical to me.
Just guessing but earlier C-4s were for 289/302s. Later ones got into 351 Ws so they might be larger.
I don't exactly know for sure, but I am going to find out just for curiousity sake.
