Post Digital Mopar dash goes out frenquently

I have a 1987 Dodge Daytona with a digital dash. The problem,I have,is that the dash blanks out, and will stay that way,for a while. The length of time can be any where, from a day or two,to several weeks, and then,it will suddenly just come back,as you can imagine, this can be a problem. No speedometer or gauges at all,I travel a major highway,to and from work,so I can't have this thing happening. The first time, I thought the dash circuitboard had blown,so I got a replacement, used, but working. The first time it went out, after that, was when I had to replace the battery, when the old one died. The dash took two weeks before it came back. All the plug connections check out as good and solid, the circuitboard, looks OK,but,I have no way to run a test on the board electrically,to see if it's good. Since this has happened with two different boards,I think that something else, may be up. Anybody with any ideas?

SPIN: It sounds like an intermiten connection or componet on the circuit board. I would take the board to a service shop that repairs computers to have them take a look at it. While they don't work on cars they work on printed circuit boards all day long. They might be able to spot something that you cannot. Hope that gives you courage. DAVE E SHANK
