i have a set of 5.7 sbc dimple rods that are large journal and have 11/32 bolts. 11/32 bolts would make sense for a small journal pre 68 rod but i've never seen this on a large journal rod. does anyone know what the deal is here. also, on the small end there are some castin numbers in them 2665.

The early production 68 large journal standard SBC rods were 11/32 bolts. Produced till stock was used up.

Very uncommon rod, to be sure. These could have come from a 1967 Camaro w/350 engine. Unfortunately in this case, rare does not equal desirable.

In any event, I'd be swapping them out ASAP for a set of 3/8" rods, unless it's a stock rebuild that won't see any racing.

I have a set of ARP 11/32" rod bolts for the SJ rods, but I don't know if they will be a correct fit in the dimpled SBC LJ rods you have. If reusing them is planned, I would look into the SJ 11/32" bolts as a replacement, along w/having the rods resized after the bolts are installed.

do you still have these? My dad wants me to redo his 68 327 with factory spec pieces ive gathered these in the past but always pitched them for x-rods w/arp bolts if these are still available let me know what you would have to have for them and what shape they are in, thank you MIke
