Dipstick length ?

Hi all, i was wondering if someone who has a stock 350 chev with stock oil pan could please measure
1- the length of the dipstick from where it seats on the dipstick tube to the "full" mark, and
2- the length of the dipstick tube - ie, the visible part that protrudes out of the block
i would really apreciate it if someone could post those 2 measurements for me

What type "Stock" oil pan do you have?? I can think of over five types real quick. Year of motor, Right or left dip, truck-car, one or two piece rear seal ?????

STICK

I measured one.

The tube is 6 1/2 " long to where is seats on the block and the stick is 19" long to the point where it sits on the top of the tube.

This is for a standard drivers side dip stick block

one more thing - where exactly is the "full" mark on the one you measured ?

bob- mine is a standard drivers side dip stick block and the oil pan is one with the oil pick-up in the middle and the lowest point of the pan is in the middle, the rear portion of mine was modified to fit in a car with a power steering ram..

i had suspected that the dipstick presently in my 350 was inacurate,
Today i figured out from the measurements that were given that my dipstick's "full" mark was out by 1.5 inches, so ive marked the proper "full" mark and topped up the oil....
thx guys
