Disc Brake Conversion
I just converted my 1973 ford Maverick to front disc brakes. I found I had 2 choices for a master cylinder. The original type manual drum or Power front disc. I dont have power but went with that Master. I now have no braking power at all, The brakes are real spongy. I have them bled and the rear drums adjusted but I still cant lock up. Do I have the wrong type Master. I reflared my lines to fit this one and I am not sure which one to try next. Do they make a master that is manual disc? I have not been able to find a part number for such an application.
Do you have residual pressure valves and a proportioning valve?
What disc brakes did you use? When I did the Granada brakes on my '65 Mustang, I used the granada proportioning valve and used a 1976 or 1977 Granada MANUAL disc brake master cylinder and it bolted up to Mustang just fine with no mods, it should bolt up to your car without problems either. The brakes on the Mustang feel about as good as power brakes! :thumbup:

By the way, The disc brake setup off the granada was actually off of a power brake car, but I had a problem fitting the booster that was on the Granada.
