Disc brake conversion on Ford 9"

I am putting a Ford 9" in my 68 Camaro and i ordered a weld on kit minus calipers and pads i had to remove the clip from the inside brake pad that clips in the caliper piston what problem will this cause?

As far as I know. When the brake is applied the caliper pushes the pad against the rotor disk. When you let off the brake the caliper piston actualy moves back just a bit to let the pressure off the rotor. The clip holds the pad to the piston so that the piston pulls the pad away from the rotor. That way you reduce un-needed wear and tear on the parts. With out the clip you'll be burning up pads a bit faster, making a little noise and risk having the pad jam at an angle against the rotor. The jaming part shouldn't happen but you will be wearing that pad out in funny ways.
