Disc brake pad compounds

I have two rides that have GM front disc brakes using semi-metallic pads and both seem to fade a little under sustained heavy braking. Would some of the new compounds like Ceramic or Ferro-Carbon pads help?

When I put ceramic pads on my 2003 durango, they squeeled from day one and warped my brand new rotors quick. I will never use ceramic pads again!

I have an '02 F-250 Powerstroke, when it came time to do the front brakes a used "Performance Friction" ceramic pads.......outstanding!!! Put them on the rear when they were due. O'Rielly's wanted $58 for the front, found the same pads on ebay for $34....shipped. Well I see one of my brother Utah'ns had problems ??? mine never made a peep

Installed Raybestos ceramic pads on the Tahoe. They work fantastic and do not make a sound. The key is buying quality ceramic pads and not parts house brands. Look for Raybestos, Wagner, or Bendix. Do some searching online and you will save some cash.
