I want to change the drum brakes on a 1964 Ford Galaxie to disc and I have been informed that I could use the equipment from either a 1965 or 1966 Gord Galaxie or 1965 thru 1968 Thunderbird and it will bolt on. Does anyone know if this is correct ?[LIST]

You will need to change the spindles at the least. The GRANADA swap is popular here and -Fatman Fabrications-[/b]</a> has reworked spindles cheap or <a href="http://www.critesrestoration.com/galaxie.htm]-Crites Restorations- has the complete kit or a list of needed donor parts.
I would also try 72/ TORINO spindles as they have heavier brakes. Just beware of any (if any) differences in the ball joint/tie rod end tapers. They can be machined. I hope this gets you started. |
