most likely you could use a disc brake kit for 49-54 chevy cars on your pontiac spindles since they're so much alike, unless someone know something I dont.. Get a street rod mag & call a couple of disc brake companies & they'd tell you for sure.........joe

thanks joe. thats what i have been thinking since the two cars are so alike. i want to get most the parts from the junk yards to keep the cost down you know! i cant afford to go buy one of those kits

you'll have to at least spend $100-$150 for the ecno-installation kit from one of the many companies who sell them, RB Rod Parts
& Butch's Rod shop are 2 that comes to mind, where you get the plate that holds the calipor on & a race to slide over you spindle. The kit will tell you what other parts you'll need & that will work. hope this helps you more.........joe |

Unfortunately, the Chev body is the same, but the frame and suspension are more on the order of the Olds and Buick, the chev spindles aren't the same. FatMan Fab has dropped spindles for it if you'd like to go the whole route. Scarebird Classic Brakes has a conversion kit that will adapt later model Pontiac Catalina discs to your stock spindles. They sell the adapter plate, you still get to rummage the junk yard to scrounge up the rest...
