Man, are you in for a pleasant surprise!

Like has been said, the EFI-compatible distributor relies on the computer to select the correct timing for the conditions. Without the ECM, the distributor would not have been able to give you anything even close to what's needed w/a Thumper cam.

BTW, which one of the thumper cams did you put in it? I hope it was the smallest. Also, you'll get (IMO) a better tone from the exhaust if you add a connection between the two sides. Put it after the collectors and before the mufflers. You want the mufflers as far rearward as practical.

That's good! I can't wait, I know this engine has more power than I have experienced so far! I already have the distributor ordered so it should be in soon I hope. And I did install the smallest of the thumper cams! With the pipe connection, is this like an "H" pipe?

Distributer change--?

The distributer, I believe you have, only works fully with the computer, controling your advancing, but even if it works to run the engine, the performance is being severely hampered.
I found this link for a performance distributer, at malloryperformance.com

Yes. The exact placement isn't all that critical, IMHO- I would place it where it was convenient and after the collector, etc. as was said above. The diameter doesn't even have to be the same as the primary pipes, but closer to it is better than farther from it, size-wise.
