I currently have two fans which I have pulling fumes from were I paint. They seem to be about right, all the fog clears in a minute or so, but they do draw a lot of muck in through cracks in my shed, as I don’t have any inlet fans to pressurise the booth.

My question is, if I turn these fans around so they are blowing air into the booth through a filter, will they still clear the fog in the same time? Theoretically the same volume of air is entering the booth so will also be leaving it through another fine mesh opening I plan to have at the other end of my shed (without any fans on it).

Should work fine, but you must use quality filters, not the cheap blue fiberglass mesh ones. 3M Filtrete filters are very good filters that will stop the trash infiltration.

i like to add that i'd be putting a hole in the side of shed and install the filter. the u wouldn't be sucking junk..

I used 2 box fans with filters pushing air in and filters on the exhaust outlet to capture overspray. I built an outdoor paint booth that worked really well.

I'm still debating the whole neg/pos pressure booth for the spring (Temporary, out of plastic sheeting). I think neg would be easier for me, as I have a large furnace fan with a pulley motor.. You couldn't find a way to seal it up nice?
