Usually the best place is as close to the tank (and lower than the tank) if possible. If I'm not mistaken, elec. fuel pumps (depending on what type you have) are better at pushing, than pullling. That's why you see pumps hanging down at the back of some modded cars. (Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.
