Do I need to have my 383 stroker rebalanced if I replace the balancer?
I'm building a 383 stroker for my 57 Chevy, I didn't realize at the time that the harmonic balancer was too big to fit between the motor mounts. Now that I've got the motor out of the shop I need to buy a 6 3/4" Damper. My question is with it being externaly balanced will I have to have the engine rebalanced or can I put the new damper on like it is?
I'm gonna buy a brand new damper not a used one.
I know this may be a stupid question but I've never built a stroker before and I don't want to ruin my engine.
