Agreed, M-55. We use this pump in lower-level circle track engines without issues. The "Select" pump is fine. DO NOT use a "high volume" or "high pressure" pump for a 350 "mained" small block. The only application we use a HV pump in a small block is for 400s w/solids.

Also agree, "sleeved" pump drive shaft (Melling IS-55E).

Restrictors are used only with solid lifters (flat or roller).

The failures of pump bodies DOES occur on occasion, as previously stated. We've found the stock pump to be fine for tha vast majority of street applications.
