Do I need New Head Gaskets?

I put heads on, torqued to specs and had to remove them 2 days later. Never started the engine. It has no oil or coolant in it yet. I didn't do anything. So, do I need new gaskets?

Thanks
Willy

if you put them back on the same side theycame off of.. and not upside down.. you can reuse them.

IT BE NO DIFFERENT THAN THE OLD SCHOOL WAY of torque'n them down, running it then after a few heat cycles, backing off the bolts and retorque'n them..

If you used a composite , you could get away with it.
A MLS (Multi layered steel) is usually stamped with "reliefs" and they are to help in sealing, they flatten out and Post stress the area of gasket that is reliefed so to provide additional surface tension that improves seal and holding capability.
I have heard guys here reusing cometic head gaskets after using with no trouble
MLS gaskets in some applications actually require tightening and loosening and re torqueing, subaru is that way. Dodge Neon is MLS and exactly opposite, also requires a spray on sealer for the OEM gasket, Fel Pro coats theres.
I guess in short...yes you can. A composite is more forgiving and I would if necessary, reuse it. An MLS, unless the manufacturer toqrue procedure calls for torqueing then loosening and retorqueing, I wouldnt re use it.
