I just bought a Ford 9 inch housing at Iola car show. it is 51 inches flange to flange. To put it in my 1990 Camaro RS would I need to tub the vehicle ?

How wide is the frame, what size tires are you going to use, how wide is it from inside the lip of fender to lip of fender.

35terraplane, my frame is 43 inches wide outside to outside. My tires are 295/50R/15 . lip to lip is 69 inches wide from side to side . unless you mean just the lip. frame to outside of lip is 12 inches,,,,, inside lip to outside of lip is 1/2 inch. I hope this makes sense to you. thanks for being patient !

Make sense, I forgot to ask how wide are the tires, that would be at the widest point. From the sound of it you only have 11 1/2" from inside lip to frame. How wide is the rearend you have now, more than likely not much wider than your frame. The new one is four inches wider than your frame on each side, I think you might have to narrow the rearend and axles. You can play with wheel offsets but I don't think that will do it.
