Do more coats of clear add to depth, gloss and shine? If two is good is four better and six great?

No you cannot make that blanket statement!

Some clears will peak out at 2-4 coats as far as depth and gloss the reason is clarity depends on the resin used and the type or brands of UV blockers added. So you could put 10 coats on and you really would not gain 5-10 percent at best.

No matter what clear you spray for custom work (best, good, bad) you should never apply more than three coats a day. This will allow the solvents to get out and the clear will cure better and have more clarity (depth) when you are done.

Depth + Clarity =Gloss
