DocVette was always as helpful as he could be; always chiming in with quirky jokes or sarcasm when he could too. Like many others before me, he had helped me to understand some electrical issues that might have dumbfounded me. He will surely be missed! It's going to be hard for someone to try and fill his shoes here on HotRodders....

I never had much to do with electrical problems, but if I saw "doc "
had posted I went to investigate.
He never failed to amaze me on the quality of his replies, always in depth and more often than not accompanied by a diagram.
We´ll all certainly miss him.

Doc had a wicked sense of humor that brightened many a day for me. He had a way of explaining things that even an electrically challenged guy like me could understand, and you can't explain things like Doc did without fully understanding the subject you are dealing with,he was a true genius with electrical.
The power of the internet to meet people, share expeiences and knowledge, have a few laughs, Doc was a friend I never had the opportunity to meet in person but I will remember him always. I think he would be pleased at the legacy he's left here for us. He was one of a kind. Dan

Doc helped me out on many occasions, some directly, other times by responding to someone else’s problem. I’ll miss him.

Ironically I logged on this morning to send Doc a PM with a couple questions.

Godspeed “Doc” and may God be with your family and friends

Doc will be sorely missed, not only here but in his community as well. I never had the opportunity to meet Doc in person but we did share some pm's about our mutual interest in amateur radio and I can tell you that Doc was also the most knowledgeable amateur radio operator I have met in my 30 years in the hobby.

Doc was truly one of a kind and will be sorely missed.......RIP my friend

When ever I see someone like Doc leave this planet I always think about how all that talent, what a mind he had, it is gone. He couldn't pass it on, he couldn't give that wonderful mind to a youngster just learning, what a shame. You know he would have if he could have!

"Good ride cowboy, good ride", we'll miss him.

Brian

REALLY, add to it "Doc" so every time someone uses it, Doc is right there. That is an awsome idea!

If that can be done, it would be an excellent tribute.

Wow, Sad, sad news. I haven't hung out much in the electrical section, its not something I enjoy or understand very well. I haven't swapped any pm's with Doc, but well aware who he was and have read quite a few of the docs posts, and seen how much intelligence and humor the man had.

My dad is fighting cancer now, and seen how it can wear a recently strong man down in a short time. I wasn't aware he was battling cancer, and the fact that he could take the time to post, share his knowledge and help other members out consistantly while keeping his own personal battle quiet. it is even more of a testimate to what kind of person Doc must of been. I and others that never got to meet him obviously missed out on meeting a special person.

Good bye Doc, bet the lights in heaven are shining much brighter now. You will be truely missed. The man left a legacy of knowledge behind on this board for others to learn from.

Doc was a good all round guy.........When we found out that my wife was having some cancer related problems, he took the time to PM me with words of caring....which we greatly appreciated.......My wife has said that with cancer, messages from people that understand their plight is good medicine. Although Doc was suffering,(he had been in poor health for a couple of years) he took the time........That is greatly appreciated.

Rest in Peace, buddy.....................
