dodge ram exhaust...

I have a stupid question for all of you out there. Where I live there is a crap load of Dodge Rams with dual exhaust. Being that the town I live in has the Chrysler transmission plant. Anywase, they sound good, and I'm wondering how they get this sound. Are the dodge 318 and 360 engine heads or timing unique to make this sound? I hear these trucks everyday cause theres so many of them here, and always wondered what Chrysler did to make this good sound. thanks,
Mark

You might ask the owners of the good sounding trucks... It's VERY possible the exhausts are aftermarket or muffler shop installs.
I see a lot of Dodge stuff in Stupidville and have noticed nothing spectacular about their exhaust note... Most of them are single exhaust.

re: dodge ram exhaust...

I've asked a few people with duals on their dodge trucks and they have cat-back with no muffler (mostly). Basically amplifying the stock sound alot. They all tell me, "thats just how they sound". But when I hear Ford and Chevy pickups with duals, they just don't have that unique sound like a dodge has. So thats why I'm curious to how this sound from the motor is made. I know..stupid question...but was always curious about it for a long time.

don't Dodge it, RAM it

I recently just brought a '98 Ram 1500 with a 360, And all I know is that it's a Dodge produced sound. I'm about to install a 3" single exhaust with a CherryBomb Extreme one chamber I just hope I don't have a run in with the city cops(the county's deputys are ok with good ole boys)
