Does 400 turbo need to be vented

Hey Guys, have a TCI 400 turbo that is leaking. It does not appear to have any kind of vent. Also the filler is sealed (threaded cap). I seem to remember the folks at TCI saying that venting was not necessary, and now that it is leaking, I feel its building pressure and blowing by the pan gasket. What say you. Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

Factory T400's all come with a vent, near the top of the case. If its a sealed case, you'd have a hell of a time filling it with fluid.

As indicated, the filler tube has a threaded cap, to fill, the cap is removed (unscrewed). I just don't recall any seperate vent tube. Exactly where does the vent exit the case. Thanks

If you dont have a vent, the fluid will back up in the fill tube because their is no place for the air in the trans to go. That is what I meant when I said you wont be able to fill it.

TH400 vent
