Does anybody know GM casting #'s?

I just got the casting #'s off my BBC heads. I bought this off a guy who builds BBC's for a living and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year or type of BBC this is.

I got these #'s off the L head under the valve cover starting from the fire wall forward....

278 (or 2.78)

I probably need the castings off the bock right?
if so where can i find them?
