Does anybody know where i can get this???

I am looking for some kind of mounting hardware that mounts a 1948 Chevy truck fender to the bed WITHOUT drilling the holes in the side of the bed.

I thought i had seen some hardware strips that is welded to the side of the bed and then you your fender attaches with bolts on this strip. It makes for a nice clean look in the bed.

JUST CAN'T FIND IT NOW!!!

Thanks in advance.

Bg

You Should Be Able To Fabricate These Metal Strips, And Weld Them To The Side Of The Bed, Then Mount Your Fenders, It May Be Easier Than Trying To Find Them??just My Thoughts??mike.

The body side sheet metal of your box is probably thick enough that you can weld studs to it to mount the fenders......................

I would not weld studs only to the box because when the nut is tightened it will probably pull on the stud too much and crack the finish. Studs welded to a 12-14 ga. strip could be fabbed pretty easily, but then there will maybe be too wide a gap between the panels. Just a thought, I for one sure like the look of stainless allen heads in a nicely painted bed...

Some stainless bumper bolts would also look just fine IMO. Plug welding a strip with studs is going to cause some warpage I'm sure, IMO I just don't feel the amount of work involved is going to give enough eye appeal return.

What about using panel bonding adhesive and using the bracing for extra support on the bottom of the fender? Just a thought. I may be missing the point of this thread though.
