tail pipes need to be mandrel bent or they cause backpressure no matter how much the air has cooled..
the crimp bends of jobber pipe are a flow restriction.
run your car for an hour cruise and put your hand on the tail pipe, you might just burn yourself.

If I understand correctly you are going to run dual exhaust from the headers/manifolds to single inlet/dual exit mufflers, then run two pipes out to the bumper and connect two into one and dump behind the mufflers? Are you using cut-outs or are all the pipes gonna be open all the time? I'm not criticizing you, just wondering if it has any special purpose or just to have something different?

Yes you have it right, The two outter outlets all the way back and the two inner outlets connected to one dump behind the muffler.. All pipes open all the time.

I was hoping to get a unique and wholesome sound... without hurting flow. Or being to loud. And yes I want my truck to be different in every way.

Ok, like I said not trying to criticize, just wondering why

I only had enough money to go from my headers to mufflers with 2.5" pipes dumped before the rear axle when I first built my motor. When I added 2.5" tail pipes, just a "U" shape over the axle, and dumped behind the tires, I needed to really change my tune just to feel any power. But it wasn't like before. So I cut the pipes off. I have since changed to a 3" exhaust, but haven't put the tail pipes back. I don't think I will.

So are you saying that you feel like you lost power after you added the u shaped tail pipes to the system as opposed to the dump before the tail pipes ?

Was this mandrel bent pipe? You sure it just wasent as loud?
It only makes sense that the engine would perform better when immediately expelling exaust from the muffler. You would think with 3 outlets on two mufflers there would be little restriction. Maybe I should run 3'' after the mufflers...

Would you consider this a waste of time if looking for a unique sound with performance being top priority?

Robo Moto! My wife bought me the cold air intake for fathers day, she's an awesome person! Also the motor sits in our living room for now. Easier to read bedtime stories and tuck in at night

And the answer is yes, I have slow danced with the engine. And she's a freak

For me it would be an easy decision to make...if performance was my priority, screw the unique sound, if sound was the priority...well it can hard to get both...although to me most fast car sounds good...it's all about what you want and how much your prepared to give up.

It really is up to you sir. I have never seen or heard a set up like you plan to build, so I say go for it and see what happens. If you don't like it, a few minutes with a saw and problem solved
