Dolphin Gauges

Hi
Wondering if anyone can help out?
I'm getting ready to install new Dolphin quad gauges in my 49 Chevy pickup. Donner is 4.3 v6 TPI with an Intank electric fuel pump system,PPL wire for gauge,GRY fuel pump,BLK for Ground exactly as it was in the Donner vehicle, nothing changed. Installing Painless wiring harness. Painless advise to install the Tan/White to the Purple fuel sender wire.
My question is? Is the the new lever sending unit included in the Dolphin kit required?
Or, once I connect the Tan/Wht wire, will the original Intank fuel pump already have electrical values required to operate sender unit & read depth of fuel?

gages

The gages have a lot of different resistance values and ranges Street Rod or Rod and custom had some articles recently on gages. You have to match the ohms required for the full and Empty position s to get the right readings. If it comes with the kit I install it. easier than soldering in resistors etc, to get the right reading.

Depends on the ohm range of the donor sending unit and the operating ohm range of the gauge. You'll need to ohm it out or research the tech data for the donor sending unit and check that against ohm rating on the Dolphin gauge.

Dolphin Gauges

Thanks for the imput. This makes good sense! I am going to do some research and find out what the ohms values are on each, before hooking things up.
